Before joining forces with Mary to establishing LoCh Design, Bill had accrued over two decades of professional design skill, knowledge and experience. As a partner of Richmond’s BAM Architects, he has served as Project Manager on a wide variety of project types and scales that include new corporate facilities, adaptive reuse of historic structures, and cultural projects. Prior to his tenure at BAM, Bill worked as a Project Architect with Art & Architecture in Petersburg, Virginia, and with Baskervill in Richmond where he gained extensive design experience in the project types of healthcare and manufacturing. Earlier in his professional career, Bill worked overseas in Zürich, Switzerland, where he focused on mixed-use and multi-family residential buildings. With an analytical mind, keen eye and extensive practice with both domestic and international projects, Bill is the resident oracle of construction details. He’s the guy to whom the rest of the project team looks to answer the question: “so…how does this really work?” Thirty seconds and one free-hand sketch later, he’ll provide the answer complete with a thorough explanation, optional approach and preferred material palette. And that free-hand sketch will be to scale.
